From Bangalore, drive towards Vellore and from there head towards Arani drive towards Chetpet. For Murugan temple, you have to come back to main road and go towards chetpet for a 1 km and take a right. Take left towards Devanur Road, within a km you will find Shiva temple on the right. LORD MURUGA SONGS DRIVER
My driver arranged me an auto for me to go to vellore bus-stand. Also, we can found a small temple for Arunagirinathar along with the Tiruppugazh songs about this temple written inside the temple.įinally at 6.30 pm we left that place, via short-cut inside forest area from puthur we reached Vellore area within 1 hour. We took few pictures and went around the temple, it was nice experience. When we reached the temple, it was locked, but the kind hearted villagers got me the priest and the priest was really good and he explained about the history of this temple and he told there was original temple here, but it was very old and they renovated and now it is in very good shape. At the village entrance, we inquired about this temple and the villages guided us into a even narrower road and it went towards a farm field, after about 300 meters or so, finally at around 5 pm we reached the temple, it was beautiful and the scene was really good. we went thru Arani and travelled towards Mosur, just before Mosur we need to took a left and the road is very narrow and it goes inside country side but mountainous and a beautiful place, we travelled in the narrow stretch for about 4-5 km and we finally got inside Puthur village. It was around 3.30 pm we left for the pilgrimage place(12 puthur temple). I had booked a cab whole day in Katpadi, as me and my driver was having lunch, I told the driver the temple which I was planning to visit, I told him the location of the temple which is located in Puthur, my driver told there might be 30-40 village names as puthur in Tamil nadu, which puthur are you referring, I gave him the location of this temple and to my luck, he told that there is one such place near his hometown(he is from Timiri) and the location which he was telling exactly matched the place which I was looking for. First, I had to go some other place and after lunch I had planned to visit this temple. This time, I travelled by train, I left thru Shatbadi from Bangalore reached Katpadi.

It is a small village called Puthur(pannandi(12 in Tamil) Puthur). This time my journey was towards Arcot in Tamil Nadu at place called Mosur and temple is located about 5km from Mosur. From Vellore, take a bus going towards Timiri or Mosur, from Mosur take an auto, from there it is about 4-5 km OR ask the locals for a local bus(Tell 12 Puthur), there is not much public transport to this temple. From Bangalore, drive towards Vellore and from there head towards Arani drive towards Timiri. Going by Car: From Chennai, drive west towards Kanchipuram and reach Arcot and from there turn left towards Arani, after reaching Timiri, lookout for Mosur, just after Mosur take right, it is a small road, drive for about 4-5 km and you get puthur village and ask the villagers about this temple, they will guide you.
